Is an electric water pump worth anything performance wise?

Is an electric water pump worth anything performance wise?
Guys, I see a few people swapping to electric water pumps.
Meziere is the brand that most go with.
I still have yet to hear the real benefit of this but am wondering if it is a worthwhile upgrade or not.
Any thoughts?

Ive always wanted to do it, but could never grow the cahnnahs to do it....Im scared since its "electric" what happens if you have it running and your under the hood and you blow a fuse or something happens then it stops working....?
Ive always wondered "THE BAD" and never the good.

your most likey not going to put an electric waterpump on a basically stock enigne....and assuming your putting one on an engine thats high HP/ High dolllar. your more then likely going to keep a steady eye on all the vital gauges, and would notice if your temperature is rising
You can put a electric water pump and a stock 5.0L and still walk out in the good.

APPARENTLY, from what I've heard, they are not a great idea on a street car.
Lots of info out there if you look.

I wouldn't run one for a street driven stang.Just from what i've read on the net.For the hard core drag racer, yeah, but for the little gains to use it on a street driven stang, not really worth it.Can't be out the stocker for longtivity, and durabilty.

I agree, my dad had one on his s10, and we couldn't keep it cool. it was ok for short blasts but any significant driving and the temp would creep. He swapped it out for a mechanical pump, and it now runs 180 constant no matter how hard its driven. btw the truck runs 12's on motor, and 11's on spray. the swap didn't show any difference in et.
