These are suppsed to be the top 3
Just wanted to know what others are using, what the change interval is and what kind of oil filter you use

I use either Royal Purple or Amsoil...Right now its Amsoil in the engine and rear end, with Royal Purple in the (manual) tranny. I've been using K&N oil filters, but I think I will switch back to the Ford filter on my next change.

I still have yet to locate a place to purchase Royal Purple Oil locally
I know Canadian Tire carries Amsoil for $13/liter
I found a place online that carries Royal Purple
6 liters including shipping is $100??? (Around $17/liter)
Before shipping its $11/liter

I use Royal Purple but it is getting harder to find and costly. For my next oil change I am switching to Castrol Syntec 5w20. I bought three 5L jugs at Walmart when it was on sale and it came to 98.00 with tax. As I had 8 liters of Royal Purple left I used that up after my cam swap.
I have also used Royal Purple and Mobil 1 as well as Ford semi synthetic oil from the factory.
I have used a K&N, Fram, NAPA Gold and Ford filters on the car. I am sticking with Ford filters for now as they are easy to get.
Recently my engine was apart to change the cams and the mechanic stated that the engine looked new inside with no wear. He said more and explained things but for me that was good to hear.
I would go with a major brand full synthetic oil not a blend and I would base my choice on price and availability to you.
My car sees a lot of high rpms and the synthetic oils that I have used seem to work good. Not really sure why I choose the ones I did as I know nothing about oil and as long as you change it regulary all should be fine.
My change intervals are twice a year as the car only sees limited k's and is only on the road from May to early November. It would look that I follow the 3 month rule and not the km's rule.
Some people say that you can extend your oil chagne intervals when using synthetic but I do not do that.
Hope that helps and as always peoples opinions will differ.

That is what i use too....Castrol Syntec 5w20.
Been using Castrol stuff since i started in the mustang game in '96 with my 5.0L,and i haven't stopped yet.I too had the cams done on my 2V 4.6L 3 years ago,and it was commented how clean it was inside, and last winter i pulled the cam covers off to swap them out to fit my Bullitt intake, and she still looked llike new.But i like to do my oil changes no more then every 3000 kilometers, and when i use to drag my '03 GT a lot for the first 4 years of ownership,i changed the oil even more frequent then the 3000 kilometers to keep the fresh oil in the pan at all times since i rev'd her pretty high while drag racing.

I buy Royal purple from a local dealer by the case (12). I was paying $7.99/ltr, then $8.25, and i think the most recent case was $8.49/ltr...maybe more, I'm not sure where I put the bill....The price is definitely on the rise, though.
