Installed Ford Racing 4.10 gears

I ordered Ford Racing 4.10 gears through my dealer and had them install it. What a difference! The acceleration is unbelievable. 1st gear is still pretty tame, but 2nd through 5th is beastly. I no longer have to downshift to 4th to pass on the highway, 5th's got enough pull now. (I found it pretty sluggish before). The whole thing has a really nice feel to it , it should have came stock like this.

Are you still covered by the warranty?

The warranty on the engine is still good, but my differential warranty isn't. But I made sure to get the original 3.55 gears back, so I still have them if for some reason I would want them back on. But not likely  the 4.10s are really great. Anyone who does this won't be disappointed. Plus, I have a 12 month 20,000km on the 4.10s. I'm happy about it.

4.10's are a GREAT gear for the 05.....we have done a ton of these swaps and never had someone dissapointed or wishing they went 3.73

great choice!

Just curious, what was the cost of part and installation? Also what RPM are you running at 120km in 5th?

Gears were $350. Installation was 4 hours at the dealer, so cost per hour was pretty expensive, 82 bucks per... I have a mechanic friend and he assure me that 4 hours is about the norm for that job. Came to roughly $700, more than I was looking to spend, but I'm still happy with my decision. Revs at 120 are still pretty decent. With the 3.55s it was 2400 about, now it's 2600. It really starts to scream at 140 though, up in the 2800-2900 region.

Next mod, LCAs. I REEEALLLY hate the wheel hop and I've read these eliminate it quite well.

One thing I failed to mention though, the speedometer needs to be recalibrated for the 4.10s, so I'm going to need a Diablosport or a SCT soon. I'm about 20 km over now. So if I'm reading 80, i'm only doing about 60. That's a bit of a pain.

we charge $250 for a gear install on the 05's and depending on what gear you run, the costs change

You will not notice any increased driveline noise, as we take every possible percaution to ensure the install is perfect

your original gear set in your 05 is a 3;31 not a 3;55.
