SVT/Manley connecting rods..

I appologize if this is the wrong area to post this.. [but it involves 4.6s]

I have 13 of the Manley forged H beam connecting rods that were used in the 03/04 Cobra motors.

Got em on trade for some parts [a T5-Z] I had.. the guy I got em from worked at the place where the pistons and stuff for them Cobra motors all got put together....

Anyways, I got a guy that wants to buy them but is griping that $500 CDN for an unused, new set of these [13 of them at that] is too much & I need the $$$ and to rid of these things.. [I got no use for em].

I'm not budging off $500.. you guys that was a fair asking price for them? [considering what they are new $$$... I thought it was..]

I got a really good price of just over $600 for a set of Scat rods for my 4.6 so $500 with no tax is an excellent price for what you described, IMO

I dont have any motors.

Why 13? I don't know, because that's possibly all he [the guy I got them from] was given for extra hours worked.. or.. apparently there is a skid of them on a shelf there and they dont wanna toss em, but can't use em. That's what he said.

Nope i've never seen or heard of these rods breaking.

Yes, the place/plant that made the pistons for the '03 - '04 Cobras is in infact, in Canada.

I might be interested in these, do you have a buyer? Will they work with a 2000 4.6 SOHC?

No set buyer as of yet. [First come first serve after the way he griped... I originally was going to hold them for him but but he got kinda ignorant with me so..].

To the best of my knowledge you can use them in the 4.6 2 valve motors when rebuilding. Find out for sure though...

Yes you can use those rods in a 2V build. The 2V and 4V's share the same demensions on the rods so they're interchangable. $500 is dirt cheap for 13 of these rods. They're the Manley 14042-8 rods (forged H beam), and a set of 8 new goes for ~$500USD.

I took them all out of the box today, and took some pics. Two of them have some surface rust, if you can call it that as it kinda rubs off [first time I yanked em all out of the box so I didn't know]. The two, are still easily useable - just neeed to be cleaned off. The rest are basically as new. I appoligize for the pics I was stuck using my quick cam, my mom took the good camera out of town for family Christmas.. This will give you the idea anyways.

The last two are the two I was mentionning that had spots on em. I ASSURE you none of the others are like this.
