The 351W will need a 28oz imbalance flywheel. A 5.0 uses a 50oz imbalance.

If the fly wheel was still on it, check for a stamping on the back of it.

Buy from Summit Racing, if there is ANY issues, they will take it back.

yes I am sure that all Ford small block flywheels are 157 tooth so there should be no problem there. You are right the early year 302's used 28oz imbalance but I have no idea when Ford changed it. If the truck you removed the motor from was standard you might be able to use that flywheel. Just count the teeth. You need it to have 157.

The right flywheel from a Mustang would be up to '82, if I recall correctly. But, that will limit you to a 10" clutch size vs the 86+ 10.5" flywheel (50oz), so when you're ordering a clutch you will have to ask for an 85 Mustang GT clutch. Valeo and LUK both make quality 'performance' clutch kits in 10" size with the right teeth for the T5.
Make sure you install a new oil pan gasket (steel reinforced) and rear main seal, if you're not rebuilding the engine that is......
