Better Gas Mileage?

Hey, I'm sure I'll get a few laughs from people for asking this.
But is there anyway to increase the mileage on a 5L without compromising the performance much?

Chris.

Just do the basics, tune up, injector cleaning, etc........the most effective fuel mileage increase will result from a change of driving habits, take off slow from stops, keep it under 2500rpm, etc...

Wont most mods also help with fuel mileage?

Such as under drive pulleys, CAI and gears ( Depending on if you drive hwy or in city)

The less the motor has to work the better.

I'm wanting to get some gears and put them in. But of course I'm new at most of this car stuff.. so all the short terms don't help me at all

doing the bolts on can help fuel milege if you drive conservatively, but honestly, who buys all the goodies and drives like their grandma? in theory you could probably save fuel but i doubt you will in the long run, for nothing else other then loving the sound of a v-8 running through the gears.
