Smog pump delete on my 302-HO 5 spd

WE don't have aircare on the island so after I put on the 3 pc underdrive pulley kit. I want to put on a off-road H-pipe. So what is all I have to do about the smog pump delete?

Thanks, Whitelion

Ford Racing makes a pulley and bracket that bolts on in place of the smog pump so you can use the stock belt. If you want to leave it the off road pipes I've seen come with a connection for the smog lines.

Hi, I'm doing all of this for extra HP the underdrive pulley kit is good for about 10 HP, the smog pump about 2 HP and the H-pipe about 10 Hp. I heard you can plug the smog lines?
Thanks ChadStang

You could plug them off but if you are already removing the pump and exhaust I'd just pull them out.

its not going to make a difference, imo leave the smog pump on. Spend the money on something else, it is not worth it

You can remove the smog pump and all of it's piping to reduce weight, it may save you a few horsepower too. I wouldn't buy an expensive delete kit, just remove the pump and repace your serpentine belt with a smaller one. The new belt is easily measured and can be bought at a local parts store for around $30. The holes in the back of the heads for the pipes are threaded and can be plugged easily with a bolt of the correct size and thread and some sealant.

Yes your right, The BBK off road H-pipe came with a rubber hose for the smog pump. It was also a right-on fit wth shorty headers. I will use the money on the UDP kit.

Thanks, Rob.
