stall converter

Hi Guys. I have an AOD with a shift kit and 3:73 's. I've been reading up on stall converters and it seems that this could really give my car a bit of a boost. I've heard that B&M are not that great(even though the price is) I got a quote from TECH EDGE of 495 US + shipping. Does anyone have any advice as to what company makes a good stall converter at a reasonable price ?
Does anyone have a ballpark figure for installation ?

Thanx in advance.

Bill

i have just buy one from Edge converter , it was for a customer car w/AODE stall 3000 9in , the good things is that the stall is made for HIS car , you send information about the model of the car , gear , ~hp and torque , the shift point ..

it s the best torque you will have , never a generic torque will give you the same output .

TCI has been around for a long time and they make a quality torque converter. That will make a big difference on your car, you could see as much as half a second off your ET on a near stock 5.0. Ask around about Tech Edge, I dont know anything about them.

Tech Edge? Is this from Edge Racing Converters out of California? If so I had oen in my street/race car. Wicked piece, absolutely performed beyond all my expectations. Pounded 700+hp through it, hooked up hard on slicks and never fliched or faded. For me it was money well spent and I definitely give Andre and his guys a big thumbs up. The sad part wasmy hardened input shaft snapped and trashed that converter, too bad, it was an amazing piece and built to spec. The off the shelf generic ones do work OK but I think there is an advantage that makes the extra money worth it in a custom built unit.

I just called Lentech. They want $822 canadian bucks for a stall converter.
Tech Edge quoted be 600 canadian shipped for their equivelant(customized).

Lentech also wants 5 hrs labor at 78$ an hour.

WTF!

Canadian or not, I'm going with Tech Edge "Street Edge"" converter

Lentech doesn't make torque converters. They have them made for them by another Cdn company in BC.
