U-joint Problem

U-joint Problem
Unfortunatly, My stang just went into storage for the winter
anyhow before it was put away, I had noticed that there was a "nocking" noise that was consistent with the acceleration of the vehicle. This nocking noise occurs in every gear so I'm guessing its one or both of the U-joints. Am I right in assuming this? where should I go from here?

Any vibration through the car? Jack it up and hold the yoke while trying to move the shaft, if they're bad there should be play-and for them to knock it should be VERY noticeable, also if you see rust coming out of the rubber boots-they're likely siezed.

Thanks for the advice guys...unfortunatly I can't try these for awhile...I'm going to school up North and my car is being stored down South so I'll have to try those ideas next time I'm home.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Checking the u joints is a good idea, if that does not pan out, you may want to drive it and see if you feel the knock through your shifter. If the joints are ok, you might have a transmission on the way out. Out of the 30+ transmissions I have blown over the years, a lot of them started this way till.....POW!!!!!!
Hope it helps
