65 Mustang taillight, appearance when lit?

Hi all, I'm an artist and I'm doing a street scene (Granville Bridge, Vancouver) painting which has a 65 Mustang, seen from the rear. I'd like to have the taillights on in some way. I assume these lights have 3 positions, off, lights on, and braking. Can someone tell me how the three panels light up when the lights are turned on, and when the car is braking? I've included a small jpg of my painting, and another of the photo of the car I'm working from. Thanks, Richy D

There is only a center light bulb in the housing so the center red panel would be the bightest but not by much if any at all. Is that what you were asking?

Hi, thanks. Yes, I'm looking for the general appearance of the tail light when it's lit. So, from what you are saying, when the lights are turned on the 3 panels are all on, but the middle panel might be a bit brighter than the others, and when the brakes are applied the three panels all become brighter? I see in some photographs a hint of yellow in there as well, thought that might be just a photo effect, or possibly a change on later models?
