Ford Mustang sales end 2012 up 18 percent
Sales of the Ford Mustang finished 2012 strong, with December results up 9.5 percent compared to the previous year – 5,537 versus 5,057. The improvement was part of a strong sales month for Ford, who had its best December since 2006.
The increase – the third in a row for the Mustang – was part of a much improved year that saw overall net sales improve by 17.8 percent. A total of 82,995 Mustangs were sold in 2012, compared to 70,438 in 2011 – a difference of 12,557. Ten of the twelve months saw improvements compared to 2011 (April and September being the exceptions), with two months topping the 10,000 mark. The month of May was the high point in Mustang sales, with 10,427 units moving off dealer’s lots. The lowest sales month in 2012 was January, with just 3,736 being sold.
The improvement of sales was undoubtedly helped by the introduction of the redesigned 2013 Mustang as well as the introduction of the more powerful 2013 Shelby GT500. It’s unlikely that 2013 will be able to continue the momentum, however, as many potential customers might hold out for the next generation 2015 Mustang coming in 2014.

I have to say that the last couple of models are very eye catching. Kids really take notice. It's tricky to have a retro style car and still evolve it the Mustang is doing a great job in Comparison the Mini and VW beetle, those models are looking tired. The 2013 looks really good.
