Steeda Cold Air Intake For 2011 Mustang 5.0

Our friends at Steeda Autosports have recently released their High Velocity Cold Air Intake (CAI) for the new 2011 Mustang GT 5.0. Using CAD data supplied by Ford Motor Company, Steeda had the design ready to go before the car hit the ground. All that was necessary was the fine tuning once the cars arrived.

Steeda says their high performance CAI effectively opens up the intake system of Ford’s new five-liter power plant and allows it to breath much more freely than the stock intake system allows – taking your 2011 5.0L Mustang to the next level of performance.

To ensure the densest air charge possible they retained the factory cold air feed ducting from the front bumper and sealed the stainless steel shield to the hood to prevent any hot air from being sucked in from around the engine compartment. The company says that other manufacturers have chosen to ignore the factory cold air ducting which Steeda believes is key to keeping the lowest air charge temperatures possible.

A billet aluminum velocity stack and high flow air filter ensure a clean, cool, streamlined air charge straight to the engine. The new high flow “ProFlow” intake tube provides the necessary ports to retain the factory noise tube and PCV tubes.

Steeda’s Cold Air Intake is so effective at improving airflow into the five-liter engine that a performance tune is not just recommended, it is required for maximum performance. Steeda has partnered with the leader in automotive tuning – SCT Performance to complete the package.

Combined with the required custom tune using an SCT X3 Flash programming device the new CAI achieves dramatic power increases of up to 44hp and 52ft/lbs of torque. That is a huge jump for a naturally aspirated engine! While these are peak numbers, the actual power increase is throughout the entire rpm range so a significant increase in performance is available on demand in any gear at virtually any rpm.

You can purchase the intake by itself if you already own a flash programming device and intend to have your own custom tuning done or as our complete ultimate induction kit available separately. The kit retails for around $389.95 and is available for both manual and automatic transmissions.

Part Numbers:

555-3155 Manual
555-3156 Automatic

I really like the look of carbon fiber cai's personally. Maybe one day but not in a hurry.

That's some pretty impressive gains for just a CAI and a tune.
