99-04 Vert owners help

Hi guys, I bought an 03 vert last summer with original ford top still with, needed to be changed, back glass was leaking, but other than that no real signs of wear. I get an EZ top installed from local installer and not 2 months after I have wear on both back corners where it joins quarter windows. When top goes down seems ok but when put up you see the top fold and rub on inside of car in the spot where the vinyl has ripped away. Installer says he will replace under warranty but what's going to stop this from happening again? Anyone else experience this with after market tops? Could it be poor quality vinyl, adjustment issue? I thought rear cables but installer said they were still good. Any advice or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Have you ever thought about going with the '03/'04 Cobra top? It is made of a cloth material, not vinyl type material.

With price being a factor no I have not, but even if I did, would it not just rub and wear in the same spot?

It would wear differently then the vinyl top. It's softer, and more forgiving when creasing compared to the vinyl.
