Borla Exhaust

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with Borla exhaust. My 02 GT has an older catback on it and I'm not sure which series it would be. It has the tips angled to the side if that helps. I want to run an off road pipe but I'm unsure if I should go with an x or y. I can't seem to find many sound clips to compare. Any help or input would be appreciated.

Not a fan of Flowmaster stuff for newer Mustangs. Love it on an old school 351C or 460
Be aware that Flowmaster is not Stainless !

I have a Stainless Works 3" header back system with Borlas, and high flow spun cats from Sean Hyland. At 14psi boost on my 03 SVT Cobra, you gotta hear it to beleive it !
At idle it's a quiet throaty rumble, almost sounds like a sleeper.
But when the Eaton comes on, OMFG ! It'll wake the dead.
I got a noise warning from the sound DB meter at the Cayuga road course !

Remember, loud pipes saves lives !

I'm that small percentage that still likes the sound of the Flowmaster 40 series "originals", and i love how it sounds with the catted Bassani X pipe i installed last year.
Everyone has their own opinion, best thing to do is go on you tube, or go to ....

Yeah I hit mustangexhaust.com a while ago and got one reply back. I think I'll try the off road x and see what happens. Borla wouldn't be my first choice but I'm being cheap and don't want to replace it.

The Flowmaster 40's make a great sound. I originally put Bassani x-pipe on with stock muffs-much improved sound. Then I put the 40's on and loved it but wanted slightly louder so finally went to Bassani Racers...am really happy so sold 40's.
Moral of my story...with Bassani x, my #1 choice is Bassani axlebacks and my #1- choice is the 40's.

I changed out the stock h-pipe and cats for the Bassani catted x for a bit more hp's. I never did run other axle-backs with stock h-pipe. So in the end I got a few more horses and the sound I wanted.

I've done both, the after market h pipe with high flows with MAC, and now the X pipe from Basani with high flows aswell. It is a night, and day difference between the two in sound, and in how the engine works threwought the rpm. The aftermarket H has that deep, angry, p!ssed off loud sound, but seems to run flat threw the rpm, the x pipe has a unique angry sound, not like the H pipe, but still noticable, but loves to pull nice and smooth threwout the rpm, right to the redline.
