Collectibles
One of the national papers puts the 83-87 Mustang as the number 1 car from the 80's to collect. Your thoughts? They place it ahead of the Grand National, Corvette, 280-Z Turbo, Camaro etc.

Mmmm..... I disagree about them being "the most".
The 87 93 Foxes, the ones that are sought after now, are the mint, low mile, original owner stock ones, and I mean STOCK, not stock with a T Body, pullies, exhaust, etc. ALLLLL original. Them ones are going to be very sought after more and more as time passes.
Grand Nationals, T Types, Turbo Ts, Turbo T Regal Limiteds [I owned one] are going to be very sought after... as long as they are stock. The prices of them cars is already on the waaaaay up. It seemed to bottom out around late 90s [when I sold mine ] and now you can't touch a nice one for under 12-14K... Oh and thats WITH some miles on them.. GNs/Ts with under 30000 KMs... hahahaha. Bend over. :cry2: Then there's the 547 made GNX <---that prolly shoulda earned #1. Them things are still going for 30K us..
I Also think that SVOs will be a bit of a collectible. They had some good stuff for so far back in the day. 11.25" rear discs, 5 lug wheels, fully adj suspension, efi turbo w/ computer contriolled variable boost, fuel octane seclection switch, Recaros,... all back in 84 LOL. Not to mention very limited production. Might as well add the rest of the turbo charged Stangs/Capris to that list. Total GT Turbos incl convertibles was only a few thou.. RS Turbos even less. Alot of people are looking for these cars now..
Another thing I think we become collectible due to its use and throw away fate by alot of owners who bought em and drove em all year round and didnt care, will be the Dodge/Chrysler Shelby Turbo cars and Daytona TurboZs.... I can't even remember the last time I saw one on the road. And they were some of the funnest coolest little cars to bomb around in. Esp an nice mint Omni GLH Turbo. Then there were the GLH-S models of them and the Shelby Charger cars. Also the early 90s Daytona Iroc RTs with the lotus designed twin cam 2.2L Turbo and the Spirit RT Turbos w/ same powerplant.. low 14s out of the box.
1989 Turbo Trans Ams.
When you look back over the 80s there was alot of neat, off the wall stuff that no one payed much attn to at the time, but IMO will become sought after. Some of it has already has....
