Delivery question / advice needed

So, here's my situation:

I ordered a V6 on August 27. They said it was gonna arrive within 6-8 weeks. Called the dealership 7-10 days ago and they couldn't really give me an answer as to when my car will be delivered. Apparently there's some sort of delay in shipping. That's all they can tell me. It's real frustrating.

My question is, has anyone ordered a Mustang on or around August 27 and got it delivered, yet?

Any advice you can share on what type of pressure I can put on the dealership to get my car faster would be great (something that you or someone you know did and worked).

Thanks.

someone i know had the same problem with his 5.0, he told the dealership to look harder or there wasn't going to be a sale. couple days later they found a car but it had some different specs from the one he ordered.

first of all was the colour, he ordered kona blue and got red candy ( he didn't mind, he really loves the colour now)

second the car he got had hid"s, he didn't mind and with the hid it came with the security package.

oh and also was a gt/cs package

Don't know if there's much you can do except wait. If you ordered it and got exactly what you wanted, don't settle for second best or something that is close to what you want - you ordered it for a reason right?

I'm sure that they will be able to locate one for you, but as others said, if you ordered a specific package, then more then likely, you must wait to get the exact package they wrote up. It's what happened to me, took around 10 weeks to finally arrive, but I got what I ordered, they did find other mustangs but they missed certain packages I did want, so I passed.
I personally would make 3 calls weekly, all to the same person ( salesman) and follow up, something along the lines of " really looking forward to getting my car delivered" and am checking on the latest data you may have regarding my built, he' ll get the message without much undue pressure... If you 're outta sight, you're outta mind" so stay above the radar with follow ups, best of luck.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, I'm definitely not settling. It's probably too late, anyway, since my car is being built to my specs.

I finally made some progress today. I managed to get the VIN from the dealership. For whatever reason, they couldn't really give me an update, though.

Is there anywhere to track my order using the VIN? Since the dealership can't provide me with satisfactory updates, I have to do it myself.

So I found out that I can get window sticker info with my VIN at http://services.forddirect.fordvehic...icker.pdf?vin=[My VIN] . However, when I enter my VIN I get his error:

"The VIN entered was not found in our system."

Any ideas why this means? Why is there no info available?
