Fenderwell mounted Cold Air Intake

Just a question, Is it worth getting a fenderwell mounted cold air intake? I have and upgraded TB, Plenum spacer and upper/lower intake, so i would imagine a less restrictive air intake would be advantageous. The intake is a good price and i have a speed density car so i dont need to worry about calibrating an MAF or anything.

Any input is good, preferably someone who owns or has owned a CIA

I m running with the Steeda CAI. i ve heard that K&N are good also. But they re not fenderwell CAI and personnaly, i didnt want the fenderwell type just because i ve heard so much negative things about the elbow in front of the MAF causing turbulence and the MAF to malfunction.

I m not sure but i think you can rotate 90* the MAF to correct that symptom.

ive got the same intake as well.. sounds nice u can sometimes here the air being sucked up threw the filter.. but its the same as just slapping a cone on ur stock intake elbow.. just looks better when hidden in the fender

Well not really it draws from completely outside your engine bay where as the stock one sort of does

On a FOX car, with the silencer removed, they are next to useless........ They do LOOK pretty though.

The fenderwell CAI is beneficial because it draws in cold air instead of warm engine compartment air, which increases power. I have heard of problems with them on MAF cars but a SD car would have no problem and it would be a nice looking, power increasing upgrade.

I have a Roush CAI and am pleased with the look + fit and finish of it.
Tube is not metal and supposed to not conduct heat.
Seems to give better performance over stock but nothing earth shattering.
