Front/Rear Side Markers and License plate light not working

Hi I'm new to the forums and need help with an issue with my project s197. The Front Side Markers and Rear markers as well as the license lights have refused to work. They are not blown as I replaced and still refuse to work. Can anyone tell me what is the potential problem? Thanks

Welcome to CMOC and Happy New Year. Sorry I can't help with your problem, but could it be a fuse?

Fuse or a ground wire maybe? I'm no expert, but welcome.

The first place to look is the fuse box in the engine compartment. I have a Ford service manual here for an '06. It may vary a bit from year to year, but my '07 car matches what the '06 manual says. With that in mind, pop the top off the fuse box, and flip it over. There is a diagram there with fuse numbers. You want to pull fuse number 63 and check it. This fuse supplies power in part to the SJB (smart junction box, iirc) inside the car. Let us know what you find.

You mentioned changing bulbs...any chance you put LEDs in it?

Oh, and welcome to the site.

I would check fuses first but if a fuse is blown, you have another problem to chase down. Fuses don't just blow, something has to cause it.

From what I seen in the manual there is no fuse mentioned. Also something called a smart junction box replaced the traditional under dash fuse box. So yeah no luck there either.

No I haven't installed LED's yet, I will in the future as my explorer is fully LED/HID equipped. I have an 06 as well, the manual is useless, nothing about lights and goes on about a sjb that replaced the traditional sjb. I heard the s550 and coyotes dropped this sjb and went traditional. I wonder why.... hmm fuse 63 I will check that out tonight I guess and get back to you.

Yeah and that's what I'm worried about, I don't need an electrical problem -___- I already have a slipping clutch a bit of body rust and truck latch problems oh and rear speakers in shaker 500 system has gone bad. Weirdly enough my belt isn't attached to my a/c compressor as well. Oh well it's a project I guess for a reason lol

It may very well be a broken power or ground wire to all those lights.
