Hard Starting - Ignition Problem - Looking for help
Hi everyone, I have a problem... well I think it is.
I recently purchased a 02 GT 5 Spd a few weeks ago.
The car has been not been starting as nicely as I expect. Sometimes when I roll the engine over, the engine doesn't seem start right away. Other times the engine seems to catch and start a little too soon in the ignition cycle.
I have found that if I turn the engine over quickly - turn the ignition from off to start in one motion - I get this problem.
I have also found that if I turn the ignition from off to the on position and then leave the switch in the on position for a few moments before starting the car, the car seems to start better. Does anyone else have this experience.
I don't really know how the egine should start as this is the first mustang I have owned.
I worry more about the car more then I should. I have warranty coverage from the dealer I purchased the car from - but this is a difficault problem to describe to the dealer, and maybe this is not a problem after all.
I may just be so excited to start the car that I am messing it up.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
My diagnosis of the problem - I am thinking that maybe the clutch sensor could be bad. or maybe I need some injector cleaner, or maybe I need new plugs. I have been using premium octance 91 or 94 fuel in the car. could that be a problem?

After messing with my own for about a week and finding I had several coils with one problem or another my suggestion would be to borrow a set out of another car and see what happens..............my issue included poor starting.
However you should first confirm the fuel filter / air filter / battery / connections / plugs are in good shape first.
