Question Help!! Tires and wheels needed

I have a 1999 mustang convertable that is a great touring car.
Top down, great on gas, holds two sets of golf clubs.
But!!!!! It looks like a "watermellon on a skateboard"
I have 205/ 65 R 15 tires & rims now.(25.3 ratio)
Ford suggests 215/55 R16 (25.1 ratio) as replacement tires& rims.
Will these tires and rims do the job??
Any suggestion??

Why not get a set of GT wheels and tires, they can be had for fairly cheap and will enhance the look, handling and value of your car, they would be worse in the snow though.

The 16" size used on the 94 - 04 GT, and optional on the later V6 cars, was 225/55/16. That would be the size I'd suggest for your car. It is much more commonly available than 215/55/16 as well.

Look for someone selling a good used set of wheels or wheels & tires from a car with factory 16". Anything from a 1994 - 2004 Mustang will fit your car.

cheers
