Magnaflow exhaust questions
I am trying to figure out which exhaust to put on my 07 GT. The guys at the mustang shop in calgary swear by the magnaflow axle back systems. they say that going with a cat back is a waste of money because your just switching out 2.5 inch pipe for 2.5 inch pipe and will see no real gains between a cat back and a axle back. now for my question which by your experince is better the magnaflow 15882 or the magnapack 16793 ??

From: Ford Mustang Exhaust System Buyers Guide - Mustang Life Articles
"Magnaflow offers a variety of systems for the 2005+ Mustang GT including their standard oval muffler as well as the more aggressive round-style Magnapack that is also available with 3-inch piping. Both are built from 100% stainless steel with polished mufflers and tips and come with a limited lifetime warranty. We tested their Magnapack system, which provided a deep baritone sound both at idle and while driving. It was very smooth and less raspy than the other systems we tested, which will suit many owners who want a sophisticated muscle car sound. Sound levels were about average at idle, and slightly louder than average at full throttle and while cruising."

So basically you're looking at a stock replacement with the regular magnaflows and a slightly louder than stock on all levels with the magnapack.
With that said. An axleback is all you need. I chose Corsa's #14311. It really is personal preference. Good luck with your choice

Thanks for the great info. I talked to the guys at the mustang shop again and they said they have never sold a set of the magnapacks - they have sold tons of the magnaflows. They also said their distibutor has never stocked them and that they could get me a set if I wanted them but it would take a month or two. So I went with the magnaflows - just need to install them now and I'll let you all know what I think.
