Need opinions on crankcase breather tanks
If I have my info right, the 4.6L 3v engine will pass about 1tsp of oil per 100 km back through the pcv to the intake. When I had my intake tube off the other day I noticed a slight oil film in the throttle body, so I am considering installing an aftermarket oil separation breather tank to clean up the recycle.
Do any of you have one installed? What is your experience with this? Do they do any good? What is the best one to use? Or any other thoughts you have on this?

For some reason, the modular seem to have a lot of oil that passes threw the PCV system.I have made my own catch can using a oil/water separator from home depot, and got some 3/8's fuel line, and a few small hose clamps, and two fittings to attach to the oil/water separator. It works pretty good,it's amazing what it catchs after a few k's!
What got me to do this mode is when i came to port my stock upper plenum back in '04.When i pulled it off,i couldn't believe the oilly film that i saw in it,and on the throttle body.

Good tip 1LOW, the store bought one's don't really have anything special about them.

Nothing special really.
Here is a Steeda oil separator...
Here is a typical oil water seperator...
There is a few different styles, and looks to some, mainly just the housing may differ in looks, but they all do the same.
The one i have is made by Husky, and i got it at Home Depot, and it looks exactly like the Steeda one.
