Odyssey Dry Cell Battery Installed

Got the Odyssey from Steeda.ca, good price by the way. My brother and I installed tonight and ready for the bend on the weekend.

I went to Canadian Tire and bought a universal J hook kit and a universal rubber hold down for $4.99 each.

We took our time and drilled two holes into the stock battery box and than installed the J hooks. We had to cut them down a notch as they were too long. All else fit into place and I think it looks pretty trick.
New battery weighs in at 17 pounds.

looks pretty good!
may i ask what makes this such a good battery over lets say...th eeliminator series?

what does the stock battery weight in at? compared to the 17LBS?

The battery is a dry cell and is light. the stocker that came out was approx 35 to 37 pounds.

I am using it for racing to take pounds off the front. I would not use this in a daily driver as it would not handle the daily use. This is an alternative to moving the battery to the trunk.

Optima battery weighs just as much as a regular battery and is the same size as a reglura batttery. This one is small.

Just make sure to not leave any accesories running with the car not running. Those batterys are amazing (I also have one) but the reserve time is next to nothing. I've in the past left my cooling fans on for a few minutes only to find the car is nearly dead trying to crank it back up. I was so paranoid after doing it a few times on race day that I added extra battery terminals out back for a quick "jump".

It's a good piece though and I'm pretty confident you could easily daily drive with one.

Mine has been out of the car for 2 years since my nitrous went on and the battery needs grew more essential. I had an electrical incident and it cooked my battery. So I pulled the little Odyssey off the shelf and after that extended period of time it fired right up and showed 12.8V when I checked it prior to dropping it in.

It pained me to pull it out, 16lbs on the bathroom scale vs the huge Interstate battery that went in at 46lbs. At least it's rear weight, but man, 30lbs is 30lbs!

Not a problem. Nothing worse then getting a call to the lanes for the next round and find out the car is flat dead...been there...done that. It was not fun at all. Plus, I'm too fat to be running back to my pit area to get the booster pack. :teeth:
