slotted rotors from CTC and pad question
OK laugh. But has anyone tried these rotors with the eliptical slots(as advertised on TV from Canadian Tire). The idea seems correct but are they up to the job.
Also is there a better pad than Ford for everyday driving.

I work for Canadian Tire I am the assistant service manager. Depends on who you ask about them, The mechanics hate them because they cant machine them, but I personally think that they are good rotors, I havnt had any at all come back.

I know, and I tell these guys EVERYDAY that they should be replacing them but my boss looks at it the same way they do.... More $$ for the shop because labor dollars make more than parts. Stupid as hell IMO. They will even turn rotors on a BIG vehicle like a SUV or something, They tried telling me they were gonna turn the rotors on a new range rover one of my customers has I looked at them and just laughed and they looked at me like I was the stupid one. The only time they actually call rotors is if they are too rusted and cant be machined or they are super thin.
Oh I thought of this one too, Get this, they charge 1.00 hr to change brake pads, and then charge another 0.4 hrs to re/re anchors.. Which I thought you HAD to do when you install pads, So im SURE if they're getting 1.00 hr to change pads then its included in that hour.

Kinda off what the op was asking but I bought a set of drilled (not slotted) rotors and a set of ceramic pads for my 04 when I had it and they were deadly.
I did not realize how bad the stock pads and rotors were until I got the new stuff.
I got the rotors off Ebay for a great price and had no issues whatsoever.
Here is a pic I still have..........
