What do I need for a proper suspension setup with a 1.5" drop?

Ok so I'm ready to do my suspension. I already have a set of H&R Super Sport springs. I am definitely getting new struts, shocks and cc plates. What I've decided on so far are:

Tokico Illumina 5-way adjustable struts/shocks
Steeda 4-Bolt CC Plates (was going to go with the MM ones, but I've been hearing better things about the steeda ones lately??)

Now what I'm confused on is how to fix the suspension travel. I know lowering it that much creates bumpsteer, but I've been getting mixed opinions on what is actually needed to fix it.

I was going to do just the Steeda bumpsteer kit, but then I was told and read that I should do the X2 balljoints & offset rack bushings. Are these necessary? Will I notice any difference in ride quality or is it more of a placebo? If I do need them and they will benefit the ride, I have no problem spending the money on them. However, if they are useless, I'd rather buy a case of beer.

We put all of those on the majority of the cars that leave the shop.

It may be worth noting, MM recommends NOT using offset rack bushings on standard K-member cars.

I'd go with MM CC plates personally...

I'm not too familiar with how the balljoints and bumpsteer kit really work, but the Endlinks make sense to me...

IMHO, if you are attempting to improve the RIDE of our car, you're doing the wrong thing from the start. You have stiffened up the car, making it harsher, etc. What you describe will significantly improve the HANDLING.

Some of the things you have identified are fairly "hard core" and not really necessary for the street. If you are considering doing lapping, Solo Sprints or Autoslalom then you are going down the right road. Skip the offset bushings and weld in a set of full length subframe connectors instead.

The difference between MM and Steeda 4 bolt plates is very small. Recommend you just get what's cheaper or more convenient to get.

Don't forget a good alignment will be needed when you're done. If you are competing with the car, try and find a place that will let you sit in the car while they do it.

The Steeda CC plates are the MM plates are almost identicle. Check online for reviews.

The minimum I suggest would be:
CC Plates
Offset Race Bushings

Thought I should note, none of the above listed are really "neccessary"

My car is lowered with springs and struts/shocks, that's it, no CC plates/endlinks/bumpsteer/rack bushings, and it handles just fine!

But if I added all the above, it would handle much better, and tires would last longer

Just out of curiosity, do you have any experience with either CC plate? What leads you to recommend the Maximum Motorsports CC plates?

I now have MM CC plates on my car, you can't really ask for more when it's Ford's design that limits the caster/camber.

My recommendation of the MM CC plates basically comes from guys at the track...no one uses Steeda plates, they're all MM, and the same goes for most other suspension pieces.

MM also has a lifetime warranty, which if I'm not mistaken, is only offered on Steeda's aluminum pieces.

HFX98GT: thanks for the info... the handling improved greately.. and surprisingly, the ride is almost identical to stock. its only a bit rougher over harsh bumps, but normal driving ride quality is near identical. I'm just doing it for handling/looks in all honesty, I do not compete. I decided only to go with the struts/shocks and springs, and its fine. I dont even notice any bumpsteer. The alignment is on its way, I wanted the springs to fully settle. Going to get it before my new wheels go on.

g-forcejunkie: i just went with struts/shocks and springs too, no regrets so far!
