Hi guys.....very very close friend has 1989 2dr hatch lx red 5 speed 5.0 litre sitting outside now lost storage..........it has 52000 km.. lost original rims and tires with move has old five star rims..which looks so out dated....rather then getting new rims and tires will leave it and has a dent on fender ......plus no air.....need comparison prices out there to appraise it...... ...or what do you guys think it worth?? hasnt been on the road since 1995...sticker is there.. Thinking of posting later in classified until i get pictures or if he decides he wants to sell. Market still hot for fox bodied cars??...P>S...might need front back brakes from stting not sure its worth doing for the price i think its worth..... tires as well as probably all fluids. Thats the status interested in your thoughts .

a clean fox with low mileage can go from anywhere between 6500 and 10k depending on condition. I would say if its been sitting outside it would need a good cleaning and a power polish.
Would have to see some pics to make a better estimation on the price.

yes i think your right..its hard to say what to do with the dent on fender and putting updated rims tires and brakes to get top price ..it not rough by any means just little neglected last year and half.......getting that fender repaired and paintd might look like its masking accident work.....maybe as is is a good way to go...plus i think where you live is a different market then in Ontario . Any other views ??

I would have to say $5-$10 thousand......I was doing lots of searching for mustangs recently before I bought my sn95 "mustangs" hold there value. Another thing to do is go on autotrader.ca or .com what ever floats your boat and do a search on the foxes, then that will get you in a ball park range........?
good luck
Keith.

I dont want to take it and pay retail....???What would i do with it....I want to make sure he gets top dollar and good money.....im not interested in taking advantage of him...Hes been a very good friend....someoneelse different story there is different price to carry this car and try to sell. He is an emotional seller and doesnt do things like this often Good enough answer? Ive had my toys i understand the market ......a true fox man will be the buyer...having no air red lx might be the challenge........it need to go before winter.

The fact that the motor has so few miles makes it an awesome candidate for a refresh or re-build. It will be stong as ever. The fact it's been sitting for 10 YEARS (holy crap?) gives it a whole new set of issues that will start to flush out once you start driving it. I would buy it as a project, definately not a daily driver. Need to see under the hood and interior to estimate value.

My friend sold his 1989 5.0 for $3800.00 in good shape. I would check out the auto trader for sure. The thing about this style, they were not the prettiest. That is why he had a hard time selling it. He was asking $4500.00 origionally. Also, there is a yellow one down the road from me, I think it is an 87. He's had a for sale sign on it for two years now. Probably asking too much. They are not my favorite style, and most people I talk to say they were one of the worst styles of mustang put out. This may make it hard to sell. Also, they are not the best for gas mileage. But I am more attracted to what is under the hood as should the person buying it. But you should definately check out the auto trader.
