another southern Ontario guy here
Hey guys
I just realized that I had registered, and posted here a bit, without introducing myself in this forum. Some of you already know me through various other message boards, but I'm pretty sure that I'm not famous Canada-wide.
My name is Ed Nicholson, and I've been a Ford and Mustang lover for a long time. At this time, I do not own a Mustang, the closest I have is a Fox chassis 87 Lincoln Mark VII 5.0 HO. I did buy an 87 Mustang LX hatch 5.0, brand new back in July of 87, and owned it for about 11 years. It ended up being pretty extensively modified, and raced in various forms. When the racing ended up getting too time-consuming and expensive, I ended up selling the car to a guy up in the Ottawa area, who was using it for track days only. My other cars right now are a 95 Thunderbird Super Coupe, and a 68 Cougar (which sports an HO Mustang EFI system atop the old motor).
Here are a few pics of my old Mustang ... the first is from a race down in Watkins Glen, New York, back in 1992:
I had crashed the car at the bottom of Corner Two at Mosport near the end of the 1992 season. So when the car was being fixed, and repainted, I decided to brighten it up a bit. This is from the mock grid area at Mosport the following year:
I like to hang around on the Mustang forums, to keep in touch with what's going on with the cars these days. I also have to make sure that Mark isn't the Curveball champion in the arcade. :laughhard Some of the younger people probably don't realize how lucky they have it, when it comes to modifying a 5.0 car these days. In the late 80s / early 90s, the choices were very limited, and sometimes we even had to make it or modify it ourselves ... we couldn't just buy the piece off the shelf.
cheers
Ed N.
