First Mustang and also new to the forum!
Hi everyone,
My wife and I just bought our first mustang - 2004 v6 40th anniversary edition convertible, dark grey. I absolutely love the look and feel of the car. It's quite the contracst to our '10 hybrid insight
I'm by no means a 'car guy' but this car really has sparked an interest in mods and DIY maintenance etc. I'm sure I will be asking a lot of questions and trying to learn as much as I can from you pros.
I guess I could start off by asking what's the best thing I can do first to make the biggest impact to the car's performance? It's completely stock right now with 153000km.
Also curious where you guys all get your parts from? Anyone use American Muscle? I live close to the border so crossing to pickup isn't an issue.
Thanks so much!
Josh

What rims did you get? I'm looking at getting a set of 18x9s in the summer. Love love love the Black Chrome finish, but the only ones they carry that I can afford are the Saleen's which unfortunately my wife doesn't like. They used to carry the FR500s in Black Chrome which woulda been stellar, but alas they don't carry them anymore.

Any suggestions for parts? I was looking at a 44 Flowmaster Muffler, but don't know too much about anything really haha!

I got chrome 2010 gt500 style. AM was a good price and getting them over the border saved a couple hundred in shipping. They are 5 years old now and since my car gets driven pretty much year round and sits outside year round they are getting a little beat up looking. Next time I need tires I think I'll just get a rim and tire combo from AM, but go black next time for less maintenance, since I dont do any polishing or that type of stuff really.
If you go black chrome make sure you read the reviews cause I recall when I was looking around some of the comments I read say the quality is pretty hit or miss. And it's not easy getting warranty when you have to ship back and forth with an American company.
