Hi I am new to the Club. I am not an official owner as I am waiting to receive my new Mustang in a few short weeks. I will send out a detailed post to my build. I purchased a 2018 Mustang GT with the performance package option. I am really excited as I have a VIN number now. I started following my order on Cotus this week, it is still in the ordering process phase and has not yet hit production. It is going to arrive about 2-3 weeks earlier than I planned and fingers crossed I won't have to drive it home on a snowy salted road.

Thanks for reading,
18GT4FUN

Well welcome to the group. I remember getting a VIN number from the dealer a few months before my 2005 was in production. There was a backlog that year due to so many orders for the new design and a lawsuit over the MyColour feature. Ordered the 05 on September 25th 2004 and it arrived April 19th, 2005.

Congrats and welcome, might be the first '18 we've seen so far. Performance Package is a nice option, pics will be required, what colour combo did you go with?

I’m a gear head by nature. I ordered only performance related options, well not really just that. I went with the Magnetic colour, premium fastback model with the 401a package because I really wanted the 12.4” digital instrument cluster. I also added performance active exhaust, magnaride, and ebony Recaro seats. I took the 6-speed manual too instead of the 10-speed auto. I did not order the shaker audio option or the safe and smart package. So my Mustang is close to fully loaded. If I forgot to mention I did get the performance package.

Sounds like a good combination, how can you buy a car like this and NOT get a manual transmissi0n? Too much fun running through the gears, Magnetic is a great colour, post pics when its rolling off the trailer !!

Who needs the Shaker stereo when all you need to do is drop the window and hit the gas with the Active Exhaust engaged ?

Well I may not get a pick of it rolling off the trailer but I will send my first one from the dealer before I drive the baby home. I want to ask eveyone a question about oil separators or oil catch cans that prevent oil getting sucked into the engine via PCV valve from the crankcase and which one I should go with?

I think Apocoalypse Pony was pretty happy with the ones he got from Ford Performance. JLT are supposed to be good as well.

Of all of the Mustangs I’ve owned only one was an auto and I wasn’t a fan. If I were to buy an 18 though I think I’d go auto. The 10 speed is a far better trans than the MT82 and performs better.
