New Mustang, New Member!
Hi Everyone,
I just bought my very first Mustang this week! (see the 2 photos below)
It's still in storage; can't wait to finally get it home and take it for a real drive.
Looking forward to joining this site for chatting, sharing advice & stories, and learning more about Mustang maintenance, repairs and restoration projects.
Here's a quick bio on my new Mustang:
VIN: 6F07Axxxxxx
Body: 1966 Coupe (65A)
Colour and Trim: Emberglo (V), restored in 1983 with Black Pony Interior; original interior was Emberglo/Parchment (D4)
Engine: 289 4V 225HP V-8 (A)
Transmission: 4-speed Manual (5); 3.00:1 Rear Axle gear ratio (1); upgraded to 9" Limited-Slip Differential
Other Upgrades: GT Tribute Equipment Package
Near-Term Projects:
-Full tune-up (fluids, filters, hoses, spark plugs, etc. etc.)
-Replace all burnt-out bulbs and lamps (headlights, tail lights, dash, indicator, etc.)
-Clean up and lubricate Transmission linkage (shift lever is a bit stiff and difficult to shift gears)
-Add new, period-correct Tires (thinking maybe BF Goodrich dual Red Line)
Long-Term Projects:
-Restore Interior to original, Numbers-Matching Emberglo/Parchment (D4)
The Seller said the car is a former Show Car, but that it had been sitting undriven for several years, stored in a barn.
-->Any other suggestions for Projects or recommended maintenance?
