Drag Day - Niagar Classic Mustang Club - July 16th
Saturday July 16th: "Niagara Classic Mustang Club's, Drag day 2005" St Thomas Dragway, Sparta On. (Opens 10:00am)
Take a nice CRUISE to the track; everyone is welcome, racers or spectators. Lots of draw prizes for the taking as well as good heads up competition on the track all day. There is a "Bracket style FINALS" starting at 2:00pm for all registered racers. (can run any make of car, even your daily driver, which is probably still under warranty! right John!!) You MUST wear a helmet in all convertibles, but it's a good idea to wear one in all vehicles racing. This track has a park like setting in the pits behind the grandstands (grass and trees) with picnic tables for your use, as well there is GOOD hot food available starting with a breakfast special, or you can pack a cooler and BBQ and do your own thing! (Please NO GLASS allowed) Hope to see as many of you out as possible, this is a GREEAAT DAY! Event ends around 5:00pm for a nice CRUISE home! If you require more info email Aaron at anewhouse@cogeco.ca
I'll be out there with my 70 Mach1 to see if it can also just go in a straight line ... as well as the twisties !
Hope to see you all there !

Great Day... & no rain !
Well we had a super day at Sparta !
It rained everywhere but where we were for the 3rd year in a row!
Those that have never been to this Event it is a lot of fun.... Aaron & his helpers from the Niagara Mustang Club did a super job of putting this Event on, and there were some awesome prizes... like car stereos !
If you've never been to Sparta, you should try it.
It's a "park like" setting with huge trees & grass that you park on, so lotsa shade. It's never busy so you get a Zillion runs in if you want them. One of our guys had 28 time trial runs ..... !
There's anever a line-up, you just drive straight into staging and launch !
My old beast turned a best of 14.7 in the 1/4. I didn't expect much better with such low gears (3.25's) and all my power is way up high for Road Racing Courses, I alsmost could finish the 1/4 (and did once) in 3rd gear (4spd Toploader). As it was... I just couldn't get my cheesy BFG T/A's to hook-up, I probably lost a 1/2 sec in wheel spin.
An awesome 1970 Big Block Mustang & a Fox body with a 460 were there doin so 9-10-11 stuff and some VERY cool SVT Cobras.
An added treat was Paul Breadners 05 GT Mustang with a Vortech blower installed. It ran some 12.8's but had traction issues. In fact it ran the 12.8 on the factory street tires, whereas the Drag Slicks he also brought with him and tried wouldn't hook-up worth a darn.....!
Put this Event down as a must for next year boyz!
