I have had good luck with the C-4, both stock & built. I have all the service records from the 79 Fairmont wagon, it appears to be completely untouched right down to the fluid, still shifts solid even after many beatings at the track.

Thanks.....the color is definately not for everyone, but it is for me.....I'm hooked on these odd ball bright colors. I actually really like the Grabber Orange on the 05-09's too.

Back to the transmission issue though, I have seen a lot of rumblings on the internet about this......hope I don't encounter any problems with mine. The last article I read is that the NHTSA opened an investigation on the tranny troubles on these models, due to numerous customer complaints. Ok now I'm worried....

Ha ha, you caught me, the 91 hatch race car is Grabber Orange, wouldn't have been my first choice, but just like the blue, it grows on me.

Don't sweat it, you've got lot's of warranty. If there are issues they will have them fixed before you're warranty is up.

Yeah true enough, and I don't put a whole lot of miles anyhow, so the warranty will definately be on time, not miles.

NHTSA investigation

The NHTSA has officially dropped the investigation of the MT-82 transmission, citing that "there is no indication of loss of motive power or unreasonable safety risk associated with the alleged defect in the subject vehicles."
