Dish Soap??

OK, I've read about this in a few places, so I'm looking on some feedback. In the past I've used Mothers products, but I've purchased some good stuff from E Shine. (great place!)

I'm preping the car for a complete clay bar, swirl removal, polish, sealant, and wax.

Now the big question is, would you wash the car with dish soap to remove the old wax first? Or would you use a quality car wash, and let the swirl removers strip the old wax?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this weekend is devoted to refreshing the mustangs paint.

Cheers!

Use a light dish soap like Dawn. It'll remove the wax nicely

There's no point using the dish soap as the clay bar will strip the wax off anyways. If anything, it will do more harm than good.

Dish soap like Dawn, if used occasionally isn't bad at all for your clear coat. If you use it a lot it'll dry out rubber and such, but once or twice a year for a clean slate isn't a problem.

You won't get every spot with the clay bar so the dish soap is a good first step.

Also, dish soap doesn't remove synthetic waxes.
