hmm audio problem need help

ya when i was trying to install my after market mp3 deck my friend who said he knew what he was doing broke the connentor head for the speakers that plugs into the back of the deck. its the 8 pin connector and he severed the ground wire. my problem started with the left side audio in my 98 v6. so iwent to an audio lpace and he saudered in a another ground wire and the back left worked np but the front left is quiet. when i play with the balancing i have to crank it 3/4 of the way up to get proper volume from it. so do you think maybe the speaker is blown? or should i try something else? i have about $100 to drop into this problem. i kow i could jus suck it up but i hate leaving things broke.

is it the connector for the aftermarket deck that is broken if so go back to the place you bought it and see if they can get you another one your front speaker being quiet sound like it could be a ground proplem to

quiet is not a sign of blown speaker, bad distortion is. pull the actual speaker and make sure it's wired correctly...you never know.

well it did work before. and the head is not an aftermarket connector it is the wire which contols the speakers sound and volume.

i think from what your saying is you might be best to run new speaker wire from your speakers to the new head unit then use a test light to find a new ground and power and just leave the old stuff alone. its not a big job to re wire it all. I am in peterborough pm me and i can walk you through it
